Purpose:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior/Principal Process Engineer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. The Senior/Principal Process Engineer is a full-time position based in Calgary, AB. The Senior/Principal Process Engineer will provide process engineering services on complex projects, including technical support and supervision within the process engineering team. You will work with top-notch engineers/consultants and will require a sound fundamental understanding of methods and applications used in front-end engineering and financial decision-making in the Hydrocarbons industry. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team developing concept studies, plant evaluations and/or front-end package delivery.
  • Perform process simulations to develop PFD, Heat & Material Balance and other documentation.
  • Perform energy optimization using commercially available simulators.
  • Proactively contribute to problem solving in design as well as in field applications.
  • Assist with proposal development and marketing support.
  • Assist with research and technical paper development on technology applications for current industry issues such as sulphur recovery, emissions control, plant efficiency, operations advice, etc.
  • Travel for various assignments, as required.

What you will bring:

Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Extensive Process Engineering experience, including various projects in the sulphur block: sulphur recovery, tail gas treating, sour water stripper, amine recovery, and/or degassing.
  • Sulphur Technology Process expertise required.
  • General experience in Refining and/or Gas Processing desired.
  • Experience in process simulations with ProMax, HYSYS, PRO/II, VMGSim or similar.
  • Experience in plant operations, revamp, and/or construction is considered an asset.
  • Good writing and presentation skill to present technical material or work product with colleagues.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and interest in professional development.
  • Analytical skills and introductory business acumen understanding.
  • Diligent work ethic applicable to fast paced, problem-solving front-end projects.
  • Strong work ethics with problem-solving and leadership skills, reliable for work product delivery, and self-starter.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Must be available to travel both within and outside of Canada for projects.
