HAZOP/LOPA Facilitator

We're looking for an experienced HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) Facilitator to join our Process Safety Team in our Calgary or Edmonton offices. The HAZOP / LOPA Facilitator is responsible for leading and facilitating hazard analysis studies and risk assessments within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis workshops such as HAZOP, What-If, and HAZID for greenfield and brownfield facilities and systems.
- Lead and facilitate SIL, LOPA studies to assess the risk and evaluate the effectiveness of safety layers.
- Work collaboratively with our cross-functional teams, operation and all stakeholders to enhance safety and mitigate risks.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting the findings, recommendations and action items from HAZOP/LOPA workshops.
Education & Experience
- Engineering Degree or Technical College Diploma
- Process Safety or Process Engineering background with FS Eng. qualification an advantage
- Experience in the oil and gas, chemical, power plants, pipelines, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture, renewable and mining industries
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards, process safety regulations, HAZOP and LOPA methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail for report writing and the ability to deliver on-site and remote workshops
- Proficiency in software tools for hazard analysis (PHA-Pro)
