Environmental Inspector (On-Site)
Activities
· Maintain and review permits, regulatory records and environmental impact reports all applicable to the site and construction activities
· Coordinate and manage all site environmental compliance inspections (physical on site) during all phases of the work to ensure compliance with environmental requirements and regulations as well as company standards
· Manage and maintain the site inspection reports documenting all findings and confirming accuracy and completeness for all environmental inspections, including, but not limited to air, water and soil
· Support the environmental sampling when performed and review/evaluate samples for air, water, soil
· Identifying and categorizing of hazardous materials as well as implementing mitigation and remediation requirements for hazardous materials
· Mitigate compliance issues to prevent any environmental violations
· Work and interface with regulatory officials at the local, state and federal levels, including meetings and inspections when required
· Understanding and evaluation of the regulatory requirements (applicable site environmental regulations and policies) from the local, state and federal authorities
· Monitor all construction work to ensure compliance to the applicable permits and environmental requirements
Qualifications/Knowledge
· Ability to read and accurately interpret engineering and construction drawings/plans, specifications and standards
· Understanding of construction practices and principles
· Knowledge and ability to interpret complex regulatory codes (local, state and federal)
· Must have physical ability to move around a complex and large construction site in order to conduct site inspections
· Must have the ability to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle to complete essential functions of the job/tasks
