Senior Estimator

Role Context

Worley is currently seeking a Senior Estimator who will be involved in the preparation of all classes of capital cost estimates, applying recognized methodologies and Worley practices. The Senior Estimator will primarily report to the head of the Estimating Department and provide support and mentoring for junior estimators. Located in the Hague office.

You'll Be

  • Establishing the key parameters associated with the overall quality and accuracy of the estimate such as: equipment and material pricing guidelines, material take-off and other allowances, escalation philosophy, and site location (labour productivity) factors.
  • Establishing the estimating scope of work, prepare estimate methodology and produce an overall estimate activity schedule identifying all deliverables and interfaces with other disciplines.
  • Preparing the Estimate Plan to include establishment of the estimating methodology and cost estimating principles applicable to the estimate preparation.
  • Providing support in identifying, investigating, and providing innovative solutions to cost estimating problems.
  • Comparing and examine scope, quantities and cost data between projects. In comparison with previous estimates, outcome costs and vendor prices, carry out benchmark estimates through high level norms and industry standards.
  • Identifying risk items and measures to mitigate risks.
  • Preparing cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs.
  • Preparing Basis of Estimate and compile all estimate documentation required for internal governance and client presentation / submission.
  • Delivering estimate review and customer presentations alongside Project Manager
  • Analyzing subcontractor pricing for accuracy and content.
  • Establishing wage rates and productivity factors.
  • Supporting with check estimates, trend and change order estimates, and forecasting as required.
  • Coordinating and monitoring input from engineering, procurement and construction to ensure estimate input requirements are met in a timely manner.

You'll Have

  • Significant experience in an Estimating Role. Commercial awareness and proven success with benchmarking and data analytic skills.
  • Knowledge about AACEI estimation practices and guidelines.
  • Experience working on projects within the Energy, Chemicals and Resource industry.
  • Experience in working on turnaround projects.
  • Education: – Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline (Engineering preferred)
  • IT Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Office Applications, Working knowledge of Estimating Software such as Cleopatra Enterprise or Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (KBase).
  • People Skills: Motivational and collaborative communication skills.
  • Budgeting: Control estimating budget on projects
  • Strong organizational planning skills

Non-negotiable requirements: 

  • Experience with Estimation on large scale projects above €500M.
  • Experience with software such as Cleopatra or K-Base. 
  • Worked on projects before within the Energy, Chemicals and Resource industry.
  • Based in the Netherlands or European borders.
