This is a remote/ rotational position, working a rotational schedule, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:

 

The Scaffold Foreman will serve as the primary Worley representative and supervisor for the Worley Scaffold team in Prudhoe Bay. The Foreman will estimate, plan, and manage the work and equipment for multiple scaffold crews and provide guidance to crew leads to ensure safe, efficient, and effectively delivery of scaffold support services. The Foreman will also be the primary point of contact for client representatives and will oversee interactions with other client and Worley functions (engineering, operations, equipment services) in support of the scaffolding scope. As a senior Worley field leader, the Foreman will be directly involved with business management functions necessary to manage and sustain the work scope.

 

The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

·       Supports Superintendent, Operations Manager and Director in decision making, development and implementation of specific guidelines, procedures, policies, and measurable goals to help achieve company HSE and efficiency objectives. 

·       Provides HSE guidance and leadership to their team leaders. Leads by example.

·       Routinely performs safety and productivity observations, shop, field, and vehicle inspections. This position is required to attend various components of technical, developmental and safety training.

·       Must demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system objectives and the ability to maintain positive support with our contract objectives and goals.

·       Maintains direct regular contact with client representatives to determine their work requirements and can position the workforce to respond.

·       Plans and supervises workforce which may consist of crew leads and/or craft in performance of assigned work activities.  This may include determination of manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedules and documentation of actual hours worked.

·       Coordinates assigned work with other groups or departments, different crafts, or other contractors.

·       Interface with H.R. representatives to maintain communications, resolve disputes, requisition required personnel, recommend, and administer coaching and counseling sessions and deliver disciplinary action as required.

·       Assists in resolving performance problems, such as lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc., as required.

·       Monitors training and compliance with client and company safety and environmental procedures and policies, documents and ensures that corrective measures are implemented when required.

·       Ensure crew leads and crew are utilizing the scope specific KPI’s keeping the data up to date and encourage suggestion on how to improve the processes.

·       Recommends cost reduction ideas, offers comments on other suggestions as requested. Ensures subordinates are encouraged to manage all resources with a view towards cost reduction.

·       Maintains liaison with client management, engineering, estimating, and planning to ensure that work complies with drawings, specifications, regulations, and schedules.

·       Manage the training and competency.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

·       Knowledge and hands-on experience building complex scaffolding systems, maintaining scaffold component and material inventories, and component integrity inspections.

·       Knowledge of and ability to manage business operations including budgeting, personnel management, forecasting, bidding, and proposal development and presentations.

·       Knowledge of the preparation of project bids and the proposal process.

·       Knowledge of work planning and scheduling processes to deliver cost control and cost reductions.

·       Ability to coordinate own and others’ actions, manage own time and manage personnel resources.

·       Ability to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization.

·       Ability to assess complex issues and find solutions.

·       Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with client fellow workers and alternate; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures.  

·       Working knowledge of computers and software programs such as Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, Exchange E-mail.

·       Must demonstrate the ability to maintain positive support with contract objectives and goals.

·       Must have ability to direct and supervise a scaffolding focused workforce and can solve problems and come up with solutions to everyday issues.

·       Must be familiar with and support Worley continuous improvement process.

 

Physical Demand/Work Environment:

 

Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

 

·       Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, reach through low and high ranges, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·       Must stand throughout evaluation.

·       Aerobic capacity evaluation via 3-minute step test.

·       Sit and reach and range of motion evaluations.

·       Lift 25 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·       Lift 25 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·       Carry 25 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

External Qualifications:

 

·       Five (5) (change to 3 years) years of supervisory/leadership experience supervising multi-craft personnel in the oil and gas industry, using comparable technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures in an Operations and Maintenance environment.

·       Five (5) years (change to 3 years) of experience in a crew-based scaffold or applicable leadership position.

·       Five (5) years’ experience working Office Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, & Outlook).

·       Valid driver’s license required and ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer.

·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

·       High school diploma or equivalent GED.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·       Five (5) years’ experience planning and scheduling experience.

·       Experience with other crafts, such as Sheetmetal, insulation, pipefitting, and valves.

·       Experience or previous employment with Worley.

·       Alaska resident and capable of short notice mobilization.

·       Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by Worley’s auto insurer required.

·       Class B CDL.
