This is a remote/ rotational position in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose

The Equipment Operator performs day-to-day tasks including loading and unloading trucks, handling materials in and out of the facility, snow removal, and inspections of all equipment operated.

Essential Job Functions: 

·    Routinely perform safety observations.

·    Maintain equipment in good/clean working order.

·    Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.

·    Adhere to all Worley health, safety and environment policies and procedures.

·    Demonstrate support for the company’s HSE management system.

·    Ensure all team members understand and follow safe work practices when working around facilities and equipment.

·    Be accountable for safe work practices.

·    Maintain communications with supervisor to assess current and future job requirements.

·    Willing to learn and develop skills in other craft areas to improve the crew’s performance.

·    Other duties as assigned. The position is required to assist other crafts as able when not operating equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·    Ability to operate front-end loader with bucket and forks, as well as a telehandler, and warehouse forklift.

·    Knowledge of rigging procedures.

·    Must be a self-starter; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

·    Ability to work as a part of a team and follow work directions.

·    Capable of learning various Worley, client safety, operational procedures and demonstrating required competencies.

·    Ability to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.

·    Ability to give and receive emergency instructions, oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments.

·    Sound knowledge of operations and safety policies and procedures.

·    Familiarization with work planning and organization.

·    Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in harsh winter conditions and environments i.e. snow removal to expose buried materials prior to lifting.

·    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

·       Lift 40 lbs from floor to knuckles x 2 with a 12 second interval

·       Lift 40 lbs from floor to waist x 2 with a 12 second interval

·       Lift 12 lbs from floor to above head/crown level with a 12 second interval

·       Repetitively lift 30 lbs from floor to knuckles x 10 self-paced but continuous with 12 second intervals between each lift

·       Carry Test: Carry 40 lbs with two hands for 50 feet x 2; self-paced, but continuous; (allow a 60 second rest break

·       between carry tests, i.e. after 50 feet.)

·       Climb Stairs: Climb up and down 12 steps x 10 for a total of 120 steps; self-paced, but continuous, (allow 60 second rest breaks after each up and down climb of 40 steps)

·       Lift, Carry and Climb: While carrying 35 lbs in one hand and holding onto a railing with the other hand for safety, walk up and down 12 steps x 2 for a total of 24 steps; self-paced but continuous, (allow 60 second rest break 12 steps up and down.)

·       Slanted Ladder: Climb up and down 15 rungs x 6 for a total of 90 rungs (allow a 60 second rest break after climbing up and down each set of 30 rungs)

·       Repetitive Stoop Test: Perform from standing position, bend forward at waist as far as possible without bending the knees with hands reaching toward the floor x 5, self-paced, but continuous.

·       Repetitive Kneel Test: Perform from standing, kneel on one knee, and alternate from left to right knee, x 5 each knee

·       Repetitive Squat Test: Perform a functional squat and stand x 5

·       Twist and Flex Test: Perform from standing alternate toe touches x 5 to each side to assess ability to twist and flex the trunk repetitively.

 

·    One (1) year of experience with a front-end loader, telehandler / zoom boom.

·    High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

·    Valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered by Worley’s auto insurer.
