Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

Position Overview:

Worley is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our dynamic Mechanical team in Doha. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the delivery of world-class offshore and onshore projects, working across the full project lifecycle from concept through to operation and decommissioning. This role requires a deep understanding of materials engineering, corrosion control, and integrity management, as well as strong leadership and communication skills to interface with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:

1. Materials Selection and Corrosion Control:

  • Perform material selection for offshore and onshore facilities, considering factors such as corrosive environments, temperature, and pressure conditions.
  • Develop and implement corrosion management strategies, including cathodic protection, coatings, and inhibitors.
  • Provide guidance on material and coating compatibility with fluids and gases handled by the system.

2. Integrity Management:

  • Design and implement asset integrity programs, including risk-based inspection (RBI), failure mode, and effects analysis (FMEA).
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for material failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments for aging assets.

3. Standards and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with international codes and standards such as NACE, ASME, API, ISO, and ASTM.
  • Maintain familiarity with regional and client-specific requirements.

4. Design and Engineering Support:

  • Provide support to FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases for material and corrosion-related aspects.
  • Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, and Piping disciplines to integrate corrosion control measures into design deliverables.
  • Review and approve material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor documents.

Soft and Essential Skills:

1. Customer-Facing Skills:

  • Engage directly with clients to define project requirements and propose optimized material and corrosion solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and professional representation.
  • Facilitate technical presentations and workshops to demonstrate Worley’s expertise and value-added capabilities.

2. Leadership and Teamwork:

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex material and corrosion issues during project execution.

3. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to materials and corrosion in offshore and onshore environments.
  • Make informed decisions under pressure, balancing technical rigor with project cost and schedule considerations.

4. Project Delivery:

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills to deliver quality outputs within project timelines and budgets.
  • Support business development by contributing to proposals, presentations, and technical solutions
