Principal Instrumentation Engineer

Role Context: Worley is currently seeking a Principal Control Systems Engineer to work on a large size project for one of our customers.  As a Principal Control System Engineer, you will lead the design, testing and implementation of the control and safeguarding systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The job requires your expertise with Honeywell systems.

You'll be:

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of control systems, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • System Integration: Integrate Honeywell control systems with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Project Controls: Oversee complex engineering matters, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less senior engineers and colleagues in India office.
  • Managing the Main Automation Contractor: Coordinate and manage the Main Automation Contractor to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.

Preferred experience:

  • Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and proficiency in project management.
  • Experience in work cooperation with remote offices (work sharing concept).
  • Functional Safety Engineer, TuV certified.
  • Relevant certifications in cybersecurity are a plus.

Non-negotiable requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in the areas of Control System engineering for 20+ years, of which extensive experience with Honeywell control systems is a must.
  • Minimal 5 years of leading experience as Control System lead engineer on large projects.
  • Able to manage Main Automation Contractor and verify the deliverables produced.
  • Clear communication in English language, both verbal and in writing
  • Job requires 40 hours a week of which Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our The Hague office.
