The Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) Facilitator is responsible for leading PHAs (HAZID, HAZOP, What-if) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA). The PHA Facilitator will provide risk identification/assessment consulting. The major function of the PHA Facilitator is to guide the team during the session, in order to get an effective and high quality outcome.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate PHA (Process Hazard Analyses), HAZOP (Hazard and Operability), and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) studies, and other similar studies (HAZID, What-if, FMEA) .
- The principal role of the PHA Facilitator is to ensure a thorough study that adheres to the process, to control the team’s discussions so that time is not wasted and to ensure that PHA discussions are properly recorded.
- The PHA Facilitator shall assist with the defining of objectives for the study, node identification, reviewing the Terms of Reference, and adequately preparing for the study.
- Interface with, customer, understand their process safety challenges, and offer tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts to deliver the highest quality safety solutions.
- Ensure the PHA scenarios, consequences, safeguards, and recommendations are complete and correctly identified and captured in the PHA software
- Prepare detailed reports, capturing the findings and recommendations from studies.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in process safety and risk management.
- Travel to client sites within the Netherlands and potentially internationally.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in another relevant engineering discipline from an internationally accredited university;
- Proven experience in Process, mechanical or chemical design experience or extensive operating experience in oil & gas facilities.
- Sound knowledge on facilitating PHA's and LOPA and having a vast track record to lead them.
- Experience with PHA software (PHA Pro)
- Proficient In Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong and Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-manages and operates with minimum supervision.
- Based in the Netherlands

- Eagerness to learn and stay updated in a constantly evolving field.
- Professional certifications in process safety or risk management
