Job Title:
Licensed Customs Broker Professional

Purpose of the Role:
The Licensed Customs Broker Professional plays an essential role in facilitating international trade for Worley by managing import and export activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. customs regulations, and providing expert guidance to stakeholders. As part of the Venture Global CP2 LNG Project in Louisiana, this role supports the seamless and efficient customs clearance process by ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Regional Director of Logistics and Trade Compliance, the Licensed Customs Broker Professional enables successful and compliant trade activities, contributing to Worley’s vision of delivering sustainable change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end import and export process, coordinating documentation preparation and submission, including customs declarations, invoices, and shipping documents, in collaboration with the Company’s Customs Brokerage Firm.
  • Maintain current knowledge of customs laws and regulations, ensuring all trade activities meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as an intermediary between importers, exporters, and customs authorities, coordinating under the direction of the Director of Logistics & Trade Compliance.
  • Classify goods according to customs codes, determine duty rates, and confirm appropriate licenses and permits are secured.
  • Advise internal stakeholders and clients on customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements, assisting in the interpretation of complex customs laws.
  • Ensure accurate and organized records of all import and export activities, including filing and archiving invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations according to Company policy.
  • Continuously update knowledge of trade agreements, tariff rates, customs procedures, and related information that may impact import and export activities.
  • Engage with clients, importers, exporters, and other stakeholders to support the customs clearance process and address any concerns related to compliance.

Qualifications / Skill Set:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid customs broker license is required, with eligibility based on country-specific licensing criteria and examination requirements.
  • Prior experience in customs brokerage, international trade, or a similar field is strongly preferred.
  • In-depth familiarity with U.S. customs regulations and trade procedures; specific experience with U.S. import and export laws is necessary.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and customs software is highly desirable to streamline documentation and clearance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade, logistics, and supply chain management principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional language proficiency is advantageous when working with international clients.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex customs regulations and trade requirements.

This role is primarily office-based with the possibility for off-site work subject to approval and requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week for a period of up to two years.
