The Role

As a Communication Specialist I, this position assists in the development and tailored deployment of Worley’s communications strategies to inform and engage key internal and external audiences in India, one of our key locations in the Asia and EMEA APAC regional business. India comprises 8 offices and ~ 7,000 people. 

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for India and with a dotted line into the global Corporate Affairs team, the candidate will influence key leaders in support of business initiatives, empower leaders to accelerate engagement of our people, and enhance the company’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • The scope of activity includes: communications planning and deployment; senior leader communications and counsel; key message development; development of communications materials; creative and strategic storytelling; and guidance of the wider India communications network. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to engage effectively with a wide range of senior stakeholders and manage a matrixed reporting structure. They must have proven success writing for a range of audiences and be eager to learn more about the broader communications field.
  • Key internal stakeholders for this position are: Acting Communications Manager, Asia; Director, Corporate Affairs EMEA APAC; Senior Vice President, India; their leadership teams; India cluster leaders; India function leaders; the broader communications network, Sustainability and Marketing. They expect aligned communications, counsel, and high-quality tactical implementation.
  • The candidate must exercise considerable discretion about information communicated and handle serious and sensitive subjects with tact, excellent judgment, and confidentiality.

  • The successful candidate will manage all aspects of communication including employee communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Serve as the primary communications partner to the Senior Vice President, India who reports into the Regional President for Asia. Develop personalized strategies and tactics that build trust and inspire.
  •  Work closely with the Senior Vice President and their extended leadership team to identify engagement shortfalls, forecast upcoming needs or risks, and create alignment with the broader business.
  • Plan, create and manage communications that help build alignment and consistency of voice within Worley, in particular across India and Asia.
  • Develop key messages, stories, visual communications and other materials that help to embed and reinforce Worley’s culture, strategic direction, and priority initiatives.
  • Align closely with the Corporate Affairs team across the EMEA APAC regional business to ensure a consistency of service and message, and minimize the duplication of work.
  • Follow standards and procedures for internal and external communications, identifying gaps in processes or opportunities for optimization.
  • Guide the broader communications network across India.
  • Be an ambassador for Worley, demonstrating our Worley values every day - life, rise to the challenge, stronger together, and unlock brilliance.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, Public Relations, or Journalism
  • 2+ years of related experience working within a large organization with an emphasis on internal communications
  • Proven experience adapting complex concepts into simple communications that can be easily grasped by a diverse audience
  • Proven experience managing multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to develop content across a range of formats such as long- and short-form
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multi-task and show the impact of their work
  • An eye for detail
  • Emotional intelligence and good judgment based on an ability to listen and learn
  • Positive, confident and professional attitude
