Job Purpose:

 

The Maintenance Lead Technician will plan and direct the work of crews based on job criteria including size of crew, work complexity, and any applicable state or federal requirements. The primary responsibilities include provide leadership and work direction to the crew in support of Santos’s camp pads and facilities.

The position is located on the North Slope at the Santos Pikka Field and requires a three week on and three weeks off rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

Essential Job Functions:

 

·       Promote safe work practices and implement company and client safety policies for work crew, including proper hazard recognition and mitigation.

·       Walk down jobs and develop safe execution plans.

·       Ensure all crew members have the required skills and abilities to perform job tasks safely and correctly.

·       Verify that mentoring process is followed and completed for new crew members.

·       Regularly communicate expectations to crew with respect to work execution, safety, procedures, efficiency and encourage open communication from team members.

·       Provide regular and timely feedback regarding performance.

·       Make certain that all incidents are promptly reported.

·       Audit Work Permits and JSA cards for complete job hazard assessment and proper mitigation.

·       Perform regular shop, field, and vehicle inspections.

·       Develop and maintain an efficient and effective alternate relationship.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

·       Must have strong planning and organizational skills.

·       Must be able to plan, coordinate, prioritize and execute high priority jobs in collaboration with client requests.

·       Ability to use tools and equipment applicable to camp maintenance and general facility maintenance operations.

·       Ability to climb ladders of various heights.

·       Ability and knowledge to interpret blueprints and redline drawings.

·       Knowledge of technical and safety policies, procedures, and standards applicable to the Maint. craft ·

·       Ability to communicate clear direction to work crew Leads, Crews, management, and client representatives.

·       Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate; and demonstrate commitment to established safety policies and procedures.

·       Ability to direct others in planning and scheduling work execution.

·       Ability to recognize and correct gaps in the safe execution of field maintenance work scope.

·       Ability to effectively manage and lead Maintenance crews.

·       Advanced leadership skills.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:


Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

 

·       Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·       Standing for prolonged periods of time.

·       Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

·       Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

·       Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·       Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

·       Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

·       Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·       Two (2) years of effectively leading and mentoring technicians.

·       Two (2) years of field maintenance, camp maintenance experience.

·       Proficient in Office Suite programs (i.e., Word, Excel, & Outlook).

·       One or more of the following Equipment Certification required: telehandler (zoom boom), forklift, loader, manlift within 90 days of hire.

·       High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

·       Valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Worley auto insurer.

·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
