Job Purpose:

 

Primarily operates Front-End Loader in support of the Santos Pikka development. Equipment operation in is primarily dedicated to the support and operation of the Santos camps and pad facilities. Duties include but not limited to snow removal, gravel moving and civil work, dumpster smashing, extraction support, and loading/unloading of miscellaneous oilfield and camp equipment and materials.

 

The position is located on the North Slope and requires a rotational work schedule. Relocation assistance to Alaska is not provided; however, transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Room and meals are provided while in Prudhoe Bay.

External Description:

 

·       Complete pre and post trip inspections of equipment being operated.

·       IFWA (Incident Free Work Assessment) prior to starting any job.

·       Adhere to all North Slope and Worley health, safety and environment policies and procedures always.

·       Safely secure all loads.

·       Maintain equipment in good/clean working order.

·       Maintain communications with lead, and clients when necessary.

·       Attend all toolbox and safety meetings.

·       Routinely performs safety observations; shop, field, and vehicle/equipment inspections.

·       Attend various components of developmental and safety training.

·       The position is required to perform physical labor when equipment operations are not necessary.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

·       Ability to read maps.

·       Ability to follow detailed directions.

·       Ability to complete task hazard awareness and mitigation.

·       Ability to safely drive/ operate Front-End Loader, skid steers, and Earth moving equipment and back in congested areas and in severe weather conditions.

·       Knowledge of standard DOT regulations.

·       Must be able to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed.

·       Ability to work at heights.

·       Ability to work as part of a team; communicate effectively with fellow workers and alternate.

·       Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

·       Ability to demonstrate support for the company’s environmental management system.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment:


Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:

 

·       Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.

·       Standing for prolonged periods of time.

·       Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather

·       Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.

·       Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.

·       Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.

·       Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.

·       Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.

·       Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

External Qualifications:

 

·       Valid Class A CDL driver’s license

·       Current CDL/DOT medical card.

·       High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

·       Minimum of three (3) years’ experience operating Caterpillar or Volvo model front-end loaders.

·       North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·       One (2) year North Slope experience.

·       One (2) years’ experience operating other miscellaneous oilfield support equipment.

·       IVES Loader and Man-lift card.
