Wildlife Technician

Qualifications

• Familiarity with bird identification or wildlife surveys
• Qualified individual for role must be able to supply and handle own dog for field work.
• Strong experience dog handling and bear aversion.
• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• At least 1 year experience in either the oil and gas industry or mining is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Argo operation would be an asset.
• Working toward certification (e.g. Technologist-in-Training or Biologist in Training with ASPB) or member of a professional organization such as ASET is considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skill
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Self-starter and flexible team player.
• Ability to work within a team environment.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Comfortable working in remote wilderness settings.
• Ability to walk long distances in uneven terrain and adverse weather conditions.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
