Vice President, Operations
Role Context:
The Vice President of Operations for The Hague is a key leadership position for Worley in the Netherlands, responsible for profit and loss of the business operations, and planning and directing the activities, policies, objectives, and initiatives for The Hague Operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to collaborate across and shape several cutting-edge international projects in the energy and sustainability space. This role plays a vital part in guiding the strategic development, growth of diversity and inclusion within Worley, business planning and goal setting, aligning with Worley's commitment to delivering a more sustainable world.
The Vice President of Operations oversees overall staff performance and development plans within their area, ensuring that the financial performance contributes to the business Worley's goals to be a global authority in sustainability solutions. This role will manage a large and complex Operation in The Hague, aligning with Worley's tagline; "Delivering Sustainable Change.”; by coordinating with some of the industry’s leading senior experts (internal and external) to ensure successful outcomes and world-class delivery of projects.
You'll be:
Leadership and Strategic Planning:
- Deliver business plan for The Hague Operations, including profit and loss for the location.
- Lead the Hague Operations leadership teams and work collaboratively with sales and sector leadership to deliver financial goals and business plan.
- Develop policies and set objectives for the assigned area of responsibility, contributing to the company's target of deriving 75% of revenue from sustainability-related projects by FY27.
- Participate in broader strategy development with senior leadership, emphasizing Worley's journey marked by change, adaptation, and growth.
- Actively participate in team selection/appointment of key resources and drive diversity and talent development.
- Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and reports to executive-level management, ensuring alignment with Worley's purpose, goals, and promise.
- Adopt a participative management style with a cooperative team approach, fostering collaboration in line with Worley's commitment to a more sustainable future. Comfortable working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide strong commercial acumen and experience in all commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc).
- Maintain operational standards within the Location.
- Lead and influence others to work collaboratively.
- Develop and maintain an effective team which competently shares the accountability of leading the business internally and externally.
Sales engagement and Commercial Acumen:
- Supports sales efforts to win work, and builds a team to pursue, bid, and win work, consistent with Worley’s risk appetite.
- Exhibit strong commercial acumen with experience in various commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases, showcasing Worley's capability in driving innovation and sustainability across projects.
- Project delivery experience a must. Understanding and in-depth knowledge of commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases (FEL/EP/EPF/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target Price/Reimbursable, etc.), reflecting Worley's targets and risk appetite.
- Understanding of Corporate, Enterprise and Operational risks
- Adoption and compliance with the Delegation of Authority cascaded from the MD of the NL.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of broader systems, processes, and tools related to the field, emphasizing Worley's evolution and growth over the past 50 years.
Customer Relationships
- Network of high-level key client contacts and industry bodies
- Ability to enhance customer relationships and resolve complex issues.
- Modern and strategic thinker who has the vision to know-how to introduce digital transformation and increase value to the existing Customer base.
- Drive collaboration through effective communication and networking, engaging with client senior management and other key stakeholders to promote sustainable practices in operational endeavours.
Organizational Leadership, Decision-Making and Problem Solving:
- Provide organizational leadership with location/regional authority, emphasizing Worley's role as a prominent engineering partner in energy, chemicals, and resources.
- Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual business plan reviews.
- Understands how the business delivers value to shareholders, what drives profitability and what increases growth.

- Mentoring and development of senior and high potential team members in The Hague Operations.
- Manage and direct 8-10 direct reports.
- Understand the role The Hague Operations plays with the Works Council, the importance of employee participation and the positive contribution of the Works Council to management decisions and support the MD of The Netherlands as required.
- Supports and champions the roll out of project delivery and digital tools, Worley ways of working in alignment with Corporate and transformation teams
- Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring and supervisory skills. Must be able to build, motivate, develop and manage an effective team. Effectively manages and resolves conflict between individuals and/or groups.

Health, Safety & Environment

You'll have:
- University Degree, or equivalent, in a related field or applicable discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant experience, including project management, recognized as a functional expert, and thought leader.
- Experience in formulation of business strategy and execution of business plans.
- Track record of success leading large operations and projects. Managed B2B contracts and handled P&L responsibility. Major projects execution and delivery experience.
- Comfortable presenting at all levels within an organization from workforce on-site to group executive level, showcasing Worley's commitment to collaboration and inclusivity.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM & Lump Sum/Fixed Price/Target
- Price/Reimbursable, etc.), reflecting Worley's targets and commitment to sustainability.
- Led large, high performing teams (including developing talent aligned to business strategy).
- A network of high-level key client contacts and credibility/ability to enhance customer relationships, underscoring Worley's position as a prominent partner in energy, chemicals, and resources.
- Experience of successfully engaging with client executives, senior management, and other key stakeholders.

- Regularly visible in the office and able to travel to customer sites in the Netherlands and internationally as required. Some international travel required.
- Experience in Large Projects environments from Engineering through to Construction and commissioning.
- Fluency in Dutch is preferred.
