Are you a technical leader with expertise in the NZ power sector? We’re seeking a Technical Director – Power to lead and support multidisciplinary teams across New Zealand energy projects. Reporting directly to our Managing Director, this is an exciting opportunity to drive the delivery of transformative electrical power solutions—from traditional generation and renewable energy integration to transmission, distribution, and energy storage systems. You'll play a key part in the energy transition, working across both established and emerging technologies. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the future of energy in New Zealand and the ideal candidate will have extensive experience including a proven track record delivering electrical solutions across NZ. Work location is flexible across our offices in Whangarei, Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, or Christchurch.

What you’ll do

  • Lead our Power sector strategy ultimately resulting in growth of work.
  • Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Lead bids and proposals to grow our power portfolio.
  • Provide technical leadership across our power sector projects.
  • Mentor and develop team member capabilities to meet future business requirements.

What you’ll have

  • Extensive experience within the New Zealand power industry, including leadership roles in consultancy, utilities, or construction firms.
  • Proven expertise in power generation, design, power system analysis, transmission, distribution and storage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, renewable energy or equivalent; relevant advanced degree highly regarded.
  • Outstanding customer relationship management and business development skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A passion for innovation, sustainability, and technical excellence.
