Position Title: Specialist Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Seals

Purpose:

Senior Reliability Field Engineer with expertise in mechanical seals. This is a 2 year field position working on a client site in the Niagara region.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed root cause analysis of current and past mechanical seal failures.
  • Execute any corrective actions.
  • Review the current design and operating conditions of the existing mechanical seals on critical vessels to confirm they are operating in their integrity operating window.
  • Ensure each seal is appropriately monitored.
  • Establish maintenance schedule and requirements as required.
  • Prepare Progress Reports and circulate to relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in regular client meetings.
  • Perform analysis, calculations, conduct studies and prepare reports as required.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Senior level of relevant field reliability experience in chemical facilities.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise of mechanical seal design and reliability.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and various client stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.
  • Knowledge of applicable theories, practices and accepted procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills written & verbal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board, Engineers Canada.
  • Registered as, or eligible to be registered as an Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
