Sheetmetal / Insulation Technician - Wells Interventions (Rotational Schedule) - Prudhoe Bay, AK
This is a remote position, working two weeks on and two weeks off or three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided.

Job Purpose:
Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs insulation and sheet metal systems for post-rig operations and in support of well shelter repair work. Assists Wells Intervention teams, as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
· Determines project requirements, including scope, assembly sequences, and required methods and materials, according to blueprints, drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
· Fabricates, assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products and equipment, such as control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators and furnace casings according to job order or blueprints.
· Sets up and operates fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, bending rolls and punch and drill presses to cut, bend and straighten sheet metal.
· Fastens seams and joints together with welds, bolts, cement, rivets, solder, caulks, metal drive clips, and bonds to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.
· Installs and inspects individual parts, assemblies, and installations for conformance to specifications and codes, using measuring instruments.
· Lays out, measures, and marks dimensions and reference lines on material.
· Pipeline insulation install / fabrication to include 90(s), T(s), unequal T(s), end caps, and straight run insulation and metal jacketing install.
· Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts.
· Touches up paint on walls or other structural surfaces.
· Attend various technical, developmental and safety training.
· Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.
· Perform manual labor including clean up.
· Perform heavy labor such as layout of hardline pipe and hauling/stacking materials on trailers or skids.
· Set up Wells Support jobs including Coil jobs, E-Line jobs, Full bore Jobs, Tree replacements, Well Disconnect and Reconnect with various flow-back components and pressure equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
· Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, handling, installation, dismantling, adjustment, alteration, and repair of sheet metal and insulation.
· Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
· Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the industrial construction or repair.
· Provides work leadership to lower-level GMT(s).
· Advanced knowledge of sheet metal and insulation products.
· Advanced ability to interpret mechanical drawings & P&ID.
· Advanced ability to operate and maintain sheet metal and insulation shop equipment.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to:
· Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear.
· Standing for prolonged periods of time.
· Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather
· Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater.
· Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands.
· Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands.
· Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands.
· Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet.
· Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.

Qualifications:
· Equipment certification within 90 days of start date (i.e., man lift, scissor lift).
· Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by Worley's auto insurer.
· High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
· North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC). Worley can provide NSTC certification training if needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· North Slope experience.
· Well Tie-In disconnect and reconnect experience.
· Rigging certification.
· Class A CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.
· Two (2) years advanced layout and fabrication of sheet metal and insulation components.
· Two (2) years of industrial facility experience.
