Position Overview

As a Senior Civil Technologist (Senior Tragwerksplaner) at Worley, you will play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure and industrial projects. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, using your expertise to develop and execute civil designs in all phases of a project. Your work will include amongst others preparing technical documents (e.g. design, calculations, specifications), carrying out check prints acc. to our checking procedure and support industrial projects in critical phases. Moreover, you are also experienced in site development, earthworks, roadways, and drainage systems. This role requires a strong understanding of civil design principles, software proficiency, and experience in delivering high-quality project documentation. Finally, you have to be a good communicator getting several parties together to find a good solution for the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to the civil and structural design aspects of projects, including steelwork, solid construction, AwSV structures acc. to WHG, site development, grading, and utility coordination.
  • Prepare structural design of existing and new structures incl. calculation and documentation using dedicated software (e.g. RStab, RFEM, DLUBAL, Robot, IDEA Statica)
  • Support preparation of detailed design drawings, models, and documentation using civil design software (e.g. TEKLA, REVIT, E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  • Conduct field assessments, site inspections, and data collection to support design decisions.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
  • Develop and review technical reports, calculations, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technologists and designers.
  • Assist in preparing project estimates, schedules, and documentation for project proposals and tenders.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes (esp. Eurocodes incl. NA), standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings, presenting design solutions and technical recommendations.
  • Support project risk management and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Civil Technology or Civil Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in civil design and drafting, ideally in the industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in civil design and calculation software, including TEKLA, REVIT, E3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation and RStab, RFEM, DLUBAL, Robot, IDEA Statica tools.
  • Strong knowledge civil and structural design aspects in industrial projects, including steelwork, solid construction, AwSV structures acc. to WHG, site development, grading, and utility coordination.
  • Experience in site inspections, field data collection, and construction support.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet project deadlines.
  • Professional designation (e.g. qTWP) is an asset.
