Senior Process Engineer, Hydrometallurgical
Essential Skills / Competencies Required
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in chemical engineering, and metallurgical engineering programs
- Lithium, nickel, manganese, and cobalt hydrometallurgical plant operating or plant support experiences
- Outstanding ability to understand clients’ needs, identify opportunities and convert them into successful proposals
- Familiar with new technologies developed recently for lithium extraction, battery materials
- 10+ years of experience in the engineering of hydrometallurgical projects with an emphasis on battery materials and metals. 3-5 years of operational experience is an asset
- Being able to perform due diligence, peer review and trade-off studies
- Experience in agitated leach, precipitation, neutralization, ion exchange, crystallization, solvent extraction and refining, filtration, and mineral processing operation units
- Being able to interpret different metallurgical test results such as leaching, column leach, SX, ion exchange and using the results in the sizing of equipment.
- Being able to work with the geologist and lab in the selection of test work samples.
- Experience in the development of lab test and pilot test work program.
- Experience in using process simulation programs such as Metsim or SysCAD
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills.
