The Role
As a Senior Process Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc….
- Lead process engineering activities across beneficiation, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgical projects.
- Experience to encompass the areas of alumina refinery, iron ore beneficiation & pellet plant, nonferrous metals.
- Develop and optimize processes for mining, extraction, and refining operations to improve efficiency and yield.
- Provide technical leadership and support in the design and implementation of new processing technologies and systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, process simulations, and detailed engineering design.
- Review and analyze plant performance data to identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while optimizing process performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management, to drive project execution and technical solutions.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Oversee process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to resolve plant issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to beneficiation, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, alumina, and new energy minerals.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 15 years of experience in the mining, minerals, and metals industry, with a focus on beneficiation, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, alumina, and new energy minerals.
- Proven track record in process engineering, project execution, and optimization in mineral processing operations.
- Strong knowledge of process control, instrumentation, and automation systems.
- In-depth understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations in mineral processing operations.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., SysCAD) and process design tools (e.g., AFT Fathom/Arrow, Fluid flow etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, solve complex problems, and make data-driven decisions.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in diverse environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with new energy minerals, such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and rare earth elements.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and green technologies in the mining industry.
- Professional certifications or memberships in relevant engineering societies (e.g., IChemE, SME).
