General Purpose of Role:

In this role you will provide mobility consultation and support to the Europe & Central Asia (“EUCA”) Region and EUCA Global Mobility Director based in the Netherlands. You will form an essential part of a global team responsible for relocating and supporting Worley’s mobile population. The current EUCA team has specialists based in the Netherlands. Both the UK and the Netherlands have large inbound and outbound assignee populations, and we are seeking a specialist familiar with mobilizing assignees into and out of the UK, but also able to mobilize assignees into any other European country.

We expect you to have extensive knowledge of various People Team functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations to provide tactical and strategic mobility support to line managers and commercial teams. You will need to consult with our business in the strategic planning process and development of mobility strategies that support business needs. In your work you will coordinate with various departments when necessary, including corporate tax, finance, benefits, payroll, commercial, legal, and mobility suppliers to ensure a compliant framework and cost containment. And you will advise employees as they undertake their international relocation.

Additional Technical Information:

We expect you to be able to identify and define issues, collaborate where needed and provide empathetic and solution-based advice based on global policy, mobility best practice, and tax/immigration compliance. We also expect you to be adaptable to client specific needs/situation. You must be flexible, able to deal with ambiguity, manage changing priorities, and be open to personal and business changes.

Strong communication skills, critical thinking, proactive attitude, attention to detail and adaptability are essential.  You need to have the ability to inform and influence on complex matters through preparation and delivery of proposals, presentations, as well as collaboration with stakeholders and management. You are expected to work in a changing environment currently undergoing a Transformation, and a flexible and pragmatic approach, together with strong problem-solving skills will be appreciated. 

Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables:

·        General:

o   Advise managers, people team, and employees on appropriate and compliant terms and conditions for employee mobilizations inbound into Europe, aligning with Global Policies and customer requirements.

o   Prepare new assignments, extensions, and end of assignment letters.  Liaise with appropriate department (Talent Acquisition and/or People Team) to extend employment agreements with supporting assignment/transfer terms.  Route for proper approvals and signature.

o   Notify relevant departments of assignment/transfer details (payroll, benefits, people team, hiring manager, etc.)

o   Navigate through provider systems and leverage mobility provider’s expertise to identify complexities and validate country specific benefits/allowances.

o   Liaise with People Team to ensure system configurations are accurately completed.

o   Coordinate and oversee services managed by relocation vendor(s) and proactively communicate status or challenges with employee and stakeholders.

o   Manage and coordinate end-to-end assignment management including immigration, tax, relocation, benefits, travel, banking, payroll, etc. Proactively communicate status or challenges with employee and stakeholders.

o   Notify People Team and Payroll to disburse appropriate allowance payments and revise/terminate as needed.

o   Responsible for updating Global Mobility Assignment Management System with Employee, Assignment, and Transfer data, including uploading documents, maintain dates, and initiating services.

 

·        Tax and Social Security:

o   Create assignment Cost Projections based on assignment type and status with necessary revisions per business requirements.

o   Ability to assess proper tax treatment and applicable Tax Policy based on duration and home/host combinations.

o   Have subject matter expertise to explain cost projections to business, answer related questions and route for approvals.

o   Ability to explain additional costs and obtain internal approvals for miscellaneous special work requests requested by tax provider.

o   Align with and support Mobility provider to ensure accurate and complete compensation collection for property tax reporting and tax equalization (TEQ).

o   Make sure the social security position of Assignees is maintained where possible.

 

·        Immigration:

o   Support Project and Hiring managers to assess visa feasibility and timing of potential candidates. 

o   Work with immigration partner to ensure permits are obtained in a timely manner.  

o   Track permit progress and keep stakeholders informed.

o   Obtain business approvals and authorize visa extensions for assignee population.

 

·        Working from Anywhere:

o   Assess Work from Anywhere requests for compliance and liaise with internal security, finance, corporate tax, payroll, benefits, suppliers, and people team to configure appropriate set-up and recommendations as needed.

o   Monitor all work from anywhere requests submitted through Service Now, update tickets, and route for approvals.

 

·        Assignment Management Systems

o   Knowledge and experience working with assignment management systems such as Equus Platform and/or KPMG LINK are desirable.

 

Role Location:

With significant hubs in both the UK (London, Aberdeen) and The Netherlands (Den Haag), this role can be based in either location. Worley offers flexible working arrangements, with most of our Mobility team working a hybrid mix of time in the office and from home.

Specific expertise required for this role:

Expertise with UK tax, social security and immigration is required for this role, regardless of the working location.
