Summary:
The Senior Mobility Advisor provides comprehensive mobility consultation and support to the Americas Region, with a primary focus on North America and adjunct support of LatAm.  The breath of the role stretches from strategic advice to supporting employees through the assignment and transfer life cycle.  This role leverages extensive knowledge of various People Team functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training, and employee relations, to deliver both tactical and strategic mobility support to line managers and commercial teams. The advisor collaborates with business units in the strategic planning process to develop mobility strategies that align with business needs. Coordination with departments such as corporate tax, finance, people, benefits, payroll, commercial, legal, and mobility suppliers is essential to ensure a compliant framework and cost containment.  As an individual contributor role, the candidate is expected to actively coordinate all aspects of the mobilization.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise managers, People Team, and employees on appropriate and compliant terms and conditions for employee mobilizations, ensuring alignment with Global Standards, customer requirements and home/host country regulations.
  • Establish assignment framework and generate cost projections to meet business requirements, incorporating proper tax treatment and applicable Tax Standards based on assignment duration, status, and home/host combinations.
  • Educate the stakeholders on output of cost projections and justification for compliant framework.
  • Notify and liaise with relevant departments of assignment/transfer details to ensure system configurations, payroll, benefits, and onboarding are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate and oversee services managed by relocation vendors, proactively communicating status or challenges with employees and stakeholders.
  • Manage end-to-end assignment processes, including immigration, tax, relocation, benefits, travel, banking, and payroll, ensuring proactive communication with all parties involved.
  • Assess visa feasibility and timing of potential candidates, organize supporting documentation and coordinate applications with support of immigration partner.  
  • Ensure accurate and complete compensation collection for proper tax reporting, tax equalization, and employer payroll obligations.
  • Evaluate Work from Anywhere requests for compliance, liaising with relevant departments to configure appropriate setups and recommendations.
  • Efficiently navigate and utilize multiple software systems and platforms to complete tasks and achieve productivity goals.
Qualifications:
  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Typically, 7+ years relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and adaptability.
  • Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance. Broad duties assigned at beginning of projects. Work is assigned in terms of objectives, relative priorities, and critical areas that impinge on work of other units. Work is reviewed to ensure policy conformity and soundness of approach. Informed guidance is available.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
  • Knowledge of global mobility best practices, tax/immigration compliance, and the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to understand the impact of the role on business operations.
  • Flexibility and the ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities.
