What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Approximately ten years’ experience in the mining industry, including underground mine design, infrastructure and operating experience; including familiarity with hoisting of Ore/Waste and experience in deployment of  mine technologies in a operating environment
  • Familiarity with all mining method (ie Stoping)
  • Experience with Mining Technology like Autonomous, Collision Avoidance Systems, Battery Electric studies and deployments
  • Experience in underground rock management, managing rase bore cutting, development rock, production rock, ventilation constraints.
  • Should have strong oral and written communication skills for effective presentation and report preparation functions.
  • Can, execute and/or lead Due Diligence studies, property assessments and technical reports compliant with NI 43-101 and/or other regulatory agencies.
  • Working Experience with Deswik software, planning and scheduling
  • Experience with Underground CAD software such as AMINE, Gemcom, Surpac, Whittle, Studio-5, FPC or others.
  • Conduct mine planning activities including long and short-term planning, mine scheduling, and mine reserve modeling.
  • Financial budgeting and/or estimating experience; familiarity with financial modeling
  • Experience dealing with exterior clients or the demonstrated capacity to act in an engineering consulting role, an asset.
  • Project engineering, Coordination and/or Management experience for mining projects.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Should be based or willing to relocate to Sudbury, ON
  • Demonstrated capacity to work alone without daily direct supervision. 
  • Has strong interest in keeping current with knowledge in digital technology associated with the position. 
  • Capable of building and sustaining business relationships.
  • Knowledge of the applicable industry standards and best practices. 
  • Broad knowledge of the application of Industry 4.0 technology. 
  • Strong knowledge of the application of BEV & electrification solutions in the mining sector.

 

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering


Preferred:

  • Must possess or be able to acquire registration with Professional Engineers of Ontario.
