Job Specific Knowledge:

  • Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the mechanical-rotating discipline, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
  • Specialized expertise of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical-rotating discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
  • Specialized expertise of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical-rotating engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Specialized expertise with rotating equipment, specifically centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors
  • (screw, centrifugal, reciprocating, sliding vane etc.),Gas Turbines as well as other rotating equipment packages
  • Hands on experience with pumps, compressors and packaged equipment
  • Specialized expertise in the specification for, evaluation of and documentation of rotating equipment packages
  • Specialized knowledge of API-610 (pumps), API-617 &618 (compressor), API-682 (Mech. seal) and statutory and regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to mechanical engineering design for oil and gas/refinery/petrochemical facilities.

  • Is able to analyse engineering/design problems methodically and arrive at satisfactory solutions;
  • Probes for further information or greater understanding of a problem;
  • Makes rational judgements from the available information and analysis;
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how one issue may be a part of a much larger system.
  • Proficient in specialty engineering, analytics and modelling, and cross-discipline data centric methods.

  • Takes responsibility for customer satisfaction and solving customer problems/ issues;
  • Sets high standards for quality and quantity and monitors and maintains quality and productivity;
  • Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet Worley and its clients needs
  • Ensures design team aware of and complying with client’s Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes.

  • Competent user of workflow procedure for delivering mechanical-rotating engineering deliverables.
  • Familiar with Worley Mechanical-Rotating discipline Standards & Codes of relevance to Brownfields Engineering Design;
  • Demonstrates commitment to the organisation;
  • Complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.

        Industry Specific Experience:

  • Relevant years of experience of mechanical design in onshore/offshore oil & gas industry in a brownfield environment with focus on rotating equipments.
  • FEED and detailed engineering experience is essential.
  • Recent experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment is essential.

        Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

  • Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
