Job Responsibilities
Technical Competency
- Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and
design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. - Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and
document templates. - Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements,
and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful. - Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
- Supports document checking and design verification tasks for compliance to
company and project specifications. - Technical supervision of project designated mechanical designers and
draftsmen in the execution of their duty. - Prepare of specifications, data sheets and other information covering Rotating
equipment and system packages. - Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval
- Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and
operating manuals. - Manage studies and mechanical-rotating-orientated projects as assigned.
- Preparation of technical requisition, stipulation of inspection and testing
requirement and documentation
Project Deliverables
- Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies,
analyses, calculations. - Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons
for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project
documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc. - Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and
pursues customer approval. - Reviews documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done by
direct reports. - Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and
revise where applicable. - Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable
in providing more cost-effective facilities.
Perform discipline specific engineering services such as:
a) Identify and report changes to project scope;
b) Contribute to appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions;
c) Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings,
specifications, data, calculations and reports;
d) Provide assistance during procurement, construction and commissioning
activities. - Perform engineering design deliverables, including rotating equipment
selection and specification, design development in collaboration with
designers and coordination with other project discipline. - Assisting the project engineers in the co-ordination and preparation of input
into the contract documents for each discipline area, including design criteria,
scope of work, procedures and design approach. - Liaison and co-ordination with other engineers and discipline groups on the
contract to effect timely production of deliverables.

Job Specific Knowledge:
- Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project
environment - Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the mechanical-rotating discipline, and able to consistently
deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients. - Specialized expertise of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical-rotating discipline, and the basic requirements
of other disciplines. - Specialized expertise of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical-rotating engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas
Excellent report writing skills. - Specialized expertise with rotating equipment, specifically centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors
(screw, centrifugal, reciprocating, sliding vane etc.),Gas Turbines as well as other rotating equipment packages - Hands on experience with pumps, compressors and packaged equipment
- Specialized expertise in the specification for, evaluation of and documentation of rotating equipment packages
- Specialized knowledge of API-610 (pumps), API-617 &618 (compressor), API-682 (Mech. seal) and statutory and
regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to
mechanical engineering design for oil and gas/refinery/petrochemical facilities.

engineering theories, techniques, and practices. - Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the
control, development, and application of deliverables. - Provides discipline supervision for one larger or one or more smaller projects.
- Arrives punctually for work and meetings.
- Demonstrates commitment to the organisation.
- Complies with legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritisation of work to achieve them

- Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not
holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period. - Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
