As a Senior Manager, Sustainability, you will be responsible to continuously evolve and deliver Worley’s environmental performance strategy and program of work. Where environmental performance refers to the company’s climate change response, nature and biodiversity response, water, and waste management.

What you’ll do
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Sustainability to join our Melbourne team.
The role responsibilities include:
- Keeps abreast of emerging trends in environmental performance and can apply these to Worley and communicate implications to the Worley leadership where appropriate.
- Develops the strategy for the continuous improvement of Worley’s environmental performance.
- Implements Worley’s environmental performance program of work, including ownership of:
- Worley’s Environmental Management System.
- Worley’s overall energy management across operations and supporting locations with energy efficiency initiatives.
- Worley’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction as part of our Scope 1 and 2 Net Zero Roadmap. This includes the setting of the annual emissions reduction target and communicating this to Worley leaders for inclusion in annual budget.
- Worley’s Scope 3 roadmap, data collection and reduction initiatives.
- Climate-related risks and opportunities, aligned with the requirements of regulatory requirements for the Worley Group (such as the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards and EU CSRD) working closely with the relevant functions.
- All other public environmental disclosures.
- Worley’s Nature Action Plan and supporting locations to realise the plan.
- Annual disclosures aligned with the Taskforce for Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
- Worley’s initiatives to reduce waste and manage water use in our operations.
- Leverage relevant internal resources such as Procurement, Property, Sustainability Champions, Advisian etc. to implement Worley’s environmental program of work as outlined above.
- Works with the ESG Disclosures Manager to disclose Worley’s environmental performance. This includes the Annual Report and ESG Data Center, ESG Ratings Agencies (including ownerships of the annual CDP submission), and other disclosure commitments (such as ISSB).
- Works with Treasury and other relevant functions to support the environmental KPIs of sustainability-linked finance.
- Works with other functions within Worley to further awareness of environmental issues within Worley. This could also include delivery of special projects, such as embedding sustainability thinking into projects (the Worley Sustainable Solutions Process).
- Supports other sustainability related initiatives as will arise from time to time, as directed by the Group Director, Sustainability Performance.
What you’ll have
- Relevant years’ experience in an environmental performance management, sustainability or related program or project management role, relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, science, commerce, or other relevant quantitative discipline.
- Post graduate qualifications in sustainability will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated expertise with developing climate scenarios (mitigation and physical), demonstrated understanding of regional regulatory environmental reporting requirements.
- Experience assisting large complex organisations achieve significant environmental performance improvements such as energy efficiency gains, Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reductions, biodiversity, water, and waste management.
- Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deliver outcomes to high standard.
- Experience in roles that work with many stakeholders with at times competing objectives, solid understanding of Worley business or the industries Worley works with.
- Able to implement environmental performance programs to high standard including delivering outcomes to agreed standard and by committed deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and ability to quickly pick up and navigate new systems and Apps.
- Able to identify key stakeholders and engage with them to win support for proposals and ‘bring people along’.
- Identifies key stakeholders and engages appropriately to maximise program delivery outcomes.
- Keeps abreast of latest trends in environmental performance that may be of relevance to Worley.
- Able to implement environmental performance programs to high standard including delivering outcomes to agreed standard and by committed deadlines.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, ability to quickly pick up and navigate new systems and Apps.

- This role requires an ability to think strategically, monitor the external context, and analyse Worley’s performance and programs to ensure continual improvement.
