The Role
As a Senior Manager, Estimating with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
- In the past have been in the role directly or indirectly to perform as a manager ensuring the team is focused and aligned with the organizational goals, initiatives and objectives.
- Ability to connect with other Home Offices to understand their support needs, train the supporting staff before onboarding on the requested support.
- Communicate effectively within the management with a look ahead on the quantum of work and gaps for training existing estimators and ensure their full chargeability.
- Possess an understanding of business strategies, culture and work to achieve results and are able to execute work beyond the scope of individual function.
- Effectively communicate and present estimates, complex proposals and reports to senior management and clients for their approvals.
- Manages and directs work directly or through reporting supervisors or team members and leading others. Makes decisions as to the selection, training, discipline and remuneration of staff. Assigns program work that involves several projects and sets policy framework for project work.
- Effectively Deep review Cost Estimates for Oil & Gas, Pipelines, PSUs and Renewables on Total Installed Costs (TIC) estimates for Feasibility studies, FEED and Construction Cost Estimates.
- Independently utilize cost methodologies and tools to produce cost estimates for the individual parts of the scope and overall project inclusive of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up scope and costs.
- Familiarity with AACEI Estimate Classification system for Class 1,2,3,4 &5 of Estimates and an ability to independently develop all types of Cost Estimates (AACEI Class 1 to 5).
- Ability to guide and develop new systems, processes and tools.
- Guide, train and assess junior estimators within the team to develop partial scopes in parallel of developing estimates.
- Sound knowledge for field installation workhours for estimates related to Pipeline, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation works.
- Conducting Productivity Analysis, Analysis of Market Trends, Bulk Material Pricing, Derivation of EPCM Services & Common Distributable, Escalation Analysis, Bid Analysis and Contingency Analysis.
- Participate in cost and schedule risk analyses and provide mitigation proposals to the project teams. Provide cost engineering advice (including estimating, planning, cost control and risk analysis) to project teams and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that all relevant regional factors are taken into account when preparing estimates by organizing and reviewing estimates with project management team.
- Benchmarking of Estimates and Manage Estimating Data - Establish the process to collect actual cost performance, condition and normalize data for future use, develop metrics and benchmarking information.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- Technical and Industry Experience
- Minimum 20+ years’ experience in Oil and Gas Industry in Cost Estimation roles. 4+ years must be in Lead roles managing a team of cost estimators.
- A thorough understanding of project planning and scheduling experience and demonstrable leadership and managing a team across multi-disciplinary and large-scale projects.
- Through knowledge and confidence in understanding of Cost Estimation practices for developing Greenfield, Brownfield, Stickbuilt, and Modular execution Cost Estimates.
- Good understanding of cost estimation parameters to be considered for domestic and international regions.
- Skill to actively engage with international and domestic colleagues, clients for inputs and coordination.
- Ability to review Cost Estimates prepared by others within the team in detail.
- Develop and coach the junior estimators in parallel. Typically assign activities and regularly give job related guidance to department staff as a senior advisor.
- Prerequisite
- A full-time Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Mastery in Estimating related software.
- Excellent in written and verbal communication.
- Enthusiastic in stakeholder management skills and team player
- Preferable Streams: Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Mining
- Preferable Experience: Exposure to US, Middle East, and Australian Estimates
- Preferred Exposure to AI (Artificial Intelligence) related Estimating
