Senior Manager, Estimating

Purpose of the Role:
As a Senior Manager, Estimating at Worley, you will lead and execute estimating activities on assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with Worley’s strategic objectives. You will play a key role in cost estimation across multiple disciplines, leveraging deep expertise to support sustainable project execution. This role requires strong knowledge of home office services and field construction costs, as well as proficiency in various estimating techniques. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to deliver high-quality estimates that support informed decision-making and long-term business growth.

This position is fully remote within the U.S. and requires the ability to work effectively across both East Coast and West Coast time zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and execute estimating activities for large-scale projects, ensuring the accuracy and quality of Type I, II, III, and IV CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates across all project phases.
  • Oversee and optimize the preparation of estimates related to engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and decommissioning.
  • Provide strategic leadership and training to the estimating team, fostering a collaborative environment that supports professional growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, and sustainability teams to provide cost insights that support project planning and decision-making.
  • Ensure the team’s estimating capabilities align with project needs and Worley’s long-term vision.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of estimating systems, processes, and tools, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and technological advancements.
  • Lead the preparation of professional services and construction management proposals, incorporating benchmarking and financial analysis.
  • Support business development initiatives by building strong relationships with key clients and growing business through consistent team performance.
  • Manage the estimating function within the broader business framework, ensuring alignment with Worley’s sustainability objectives and financial targets.
  • Provide guidance on indirect estimating and the reconciliation of scope changes in EPC contracts, ensuring adherence to best practices in contractor negotiation.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in a related field, with extensive experience in estimating and project management.
  • Proven ability to manage and deliver high-quality cost estimates across multiple disciplines and project phases.
  • Deep understanding of estimating techniques, including hours estimation for various classes of estimates.
  • Strong leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing estimating team.
  • Proficiency in Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE), Cleopatra, and Microsoft software. Experience with @Risk/Monte Carlo and benchmarking tools is preferred.
  • OPEX estimating experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPC contracts, change orders, and contractor negotiations.
  • Experience in Mining and Minerals, Battery Materials, Refinery Portfolio work; Pipeline experience preferred. 
  • Ability to prepare professional services and construction management proposals with appropriate benchmarking and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make independent decisions in complex project environments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders and influence decision-making.

  • Salary Range $165,972-$244,080
  • Benefits: eligible for PTO, 401k, medical, vision, dental, etc.

Salary Range is $175,800-$258,528
