The Role
As a Senior Legal Assistant with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc….
- Aalyzes complex information in documents and records, makes judgment calls with respect to relevance, privilege, responsiveness, and confidentiality and applies appropriate tags and redactions.
- Proficiently utilizes online document review tools to search, filter, review and tag documents.
- Identifies key legal issues within data populations requiring next-level review.
- Grasps and comprehends matter legal issues and concepts outlined in document review manuals and carries out document reviews in accordance with document review manual specifications.
- Completes eDiscovery platform training and proficiently utilizes various eDiscovery platforms for document reviews.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Prior document review experience and utilization of at least one online document review application is required.
- Experience in reviewing complex, voluminous documents.
- Fundamental understanding of litigation and dispute resolution processes.
- General familiarity with data privacy concepts; ability to recognize sensitive data during document reviews.
- High-level analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to grasp and interpret legal documents
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An agile and flexible thinker, with the ability to learn areas of the law, technology and the business quickly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard confidential and sensitive information.
- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Effectively handles and manages workload demands and multi-tasking associated with position.
- Establishes and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with staff, peers, managers, internal clients, and contacts.
- Flexible in working hours and willingness to adapt work hours in alignment with team schedules.
- Displays high standards of ethical conduct in accordance with the Company’s Code of Conduct. Understands the impact of violation of these standards on the organization, self and others, chooses an ethical course of action and is trustworthy.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
- A minimum of six months of prior experience with eDiscovery document reviews and document review platforms such as Logikcull, Relativity, Disco, etc.
- Aptitude for technology-based legal review work.
- Quality control review work is beneficial, but not required.
- Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) or Juris Doctorate.
- Prior online document review experience.
