We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Portland Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career as an engineer, working on some exciting projects from a great regional hub. Working on the Alcoa Engineering Services contract the scope of work comprises engineering support for concept and feasibility studies, FEEDs and detail design on projects within the facilities CAPEx plan and maintenance and reliability plan.  This role does require you to live or relocate to within reasonable commuting distance of Portland Victoria.

What you’ll do
As a Lead / Senior Electrical Engineer at Worley, you’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, safe, and sustainable solutions for our clients while shaping the future of our discipline team. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role, work across diverse projects, and contribute to the growth of both our people and our systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality electrical engineering services that meet client, statutory, and regulatory standards, ensuring safe and fit-for-purpose outcomes.

  • Lead the design, verification, and delivery of engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation, upholding the highest levels of technical integrity.

  • Prepare and oversee scopes of work, estimates, schedules, and resource planning to support successful project execution.

  • Drive safety-in-design, HAZOPs, and project reviews, ensuring solutions are constructible, operable, and maintainable across the asset lifecycle.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for discipline-specific engineering issues, building strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project teams.

  • Manage project deliverables within schedule and budget, coordinating seamlessly with other engineering disciplines and external stakeholders.

  • Lead and mentor a discipline team of engineers, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance feedback.

  • Champion continuous improvement by enhancing Worley’s engineering systems, processes, and practices, ensuring consistent quality across all deliverables.

     

     

What you’ll bring

  • A degree recognised by Engineers Australia in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
  • A strong working knowledge of the fundamental requirements of electrical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • A strong working knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • Competent use of electrical engineering specific software and relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Engineering experience in Refinery/ Mining Industry  including leading projects on a discipline level.

     

  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status / RPEQ Registration / RPEV Registration 
  • Valid Working rights for Australia
  • Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly effective organisational skills including the ability to plan, set goals, prioritise set accountabilities, manage schedules and budgets.
