Purpose:
As an Editorial Planner, you will work with global cross-functional teams responsible for planning, developing, and distributing the editorial plan. You’ll have a sharp editorial eye, be able to develop unique features and angles that enhance content engagement, and a knack for conceptualizing content ideas. With a strong understanding of audience behaviors, you’ll focus on aligning a consistent story and message across various channels while optimizing formats to drive engagement.
This is a full-time position offers the flexibility to be performed remotely from Canada, the UAE, Oman, or Saudi Arabia.
Your role includes:
- Content curation and analysis: Develop the editorial calendar then manage and distribute across platforms, tracking engagement and refining strategy based on analytics.
- Audience growth and engagement: Understand target audiences and shape content to drive measurable growth in reach and engagement.
- Partnerships and thought leadership: elevate Worley’s positioning as a thought leader through strategic content initiatives that leverage our specialist knowledge and maximize partners.
- SEO & Distribution: Optimizing content for search engines and planning distribution across owned, earned, and paid channels.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work with writers, designers, and internal teams to curate, brief and create compelling content.
- Develop and manage a dynamic editorial calendar that aligns with Worley’s brand story across social media, website content, and internal communications.
- Maintain detailed forward planning documents, liaising with production teams to deliver accuracy and on deadline.
- Create and implement data-driven content strategies that leverage industry best practices to maximize audience engagement and brand visibility.
- Collaborate closely with multiple global functions including sector specialists and consultants, people teams, social media, corporate affairs, internal communications, and marketing teams to ensure a consistent and engaging brand story across all channels.
- Own and refine the existing editorial governance framework, ensuring best practices and brand guidelines are followed while fostering innovation.
- Influence channel owners to align messaging and enhance storytelling, using industry best practices as benchmarks.
- Monitor and analyze brand and content performance metrics, working with stakeholders to translate insights into actionable recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive progress and ensure the timely delivery of content that meets strategic objectives.
- Balance high-level storytelling with deep technical content, tailoring content to different audiences as needed.
- Integrate SEO best practices into content creation and optimization to enhance online visibility and organic engagement.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and share insights internally to refine content strategy and execution.
- Brand: Ensure all content consistently adheres to Our Way with Words tone, and our Worley Brand Guidelines across all channels.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in creating, managing, and distributing content in an online environment.
- Proven experience as an editorial strategist or in a similar role within the B2B sector.
- A deep understanding of the energy, chemicals and resources industries.
- Strong understanding of social media, web content management, and internal communication strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to structure processes effectively and build strong relationships across teams.
- Excellent organizational and management skills. Attention to detail is a must.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
- Demonstrated success in enhancing brand perception and driving internal alignment through cohesive storytelling.
- Resilience and determination with a demonstrated ability to influence through positive relationships.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications/experience in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Editing, Publishing, or a related field will be highly regarded.
