🎯 Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to collaborate across and shape several cutting-edge international projects within the energy and sustainability space. Under your strategic guidance you will help shape the future of energy at Worley, collaborate with some of the best individuals in the industry and support us on our journey to a Net Zero by 2050 goal!

The Location Director at Worley is a key leadership position across Mexico (Latam – Americas), responsible for planning and directing the activities, policies, objectives, and initiatives for the operations in this country. This role plays a vital part in guiding the strategic development, growth of diversity and inclusion within Worley, business planning and goal setting for the country, aligning with Worley's commitment to delivering a more sustainable world.

The Location Director oversees overall staff performance and development plans within their area, ensuring that the country's financial performance contributes to Worley's goals to be a global authority in sustainability solutions. You will achieve this by coordinating with some of the industry’s leading senior experts (internal and external) to ensure a successful outcomes and world-class delivery of projects.

📋 You will do:

Leadership and Strategic Planning:

·    Manage a large and complex location with various interests across multiple geographical areas, aligning with Worley's tagline; "Delivering Sustainable Change."

·    Develop policies and set objectives for the assigned area of responsibility, contributing to the company's target of deriving 75 percent of revenue from sustainability-related projects by FY26.

·    Participate in broader strategy development with senior leadership, emphasizing Worley's journey marked by change, adaptation, and growth.

·    Actively participates in team selection/appointment of key resources and drives diversity and talent development.

·     Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and reports to executive-level management and/or the Board, ensuring alignment with Worley's purpose, goals, and promise.

·      Adopt a participative management style with a cooperative team approach, fostering collaboration in line with Worley's commitment to a more sustainable future. Comfortable working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

 

·     Provide strong commercial acumen and experience in all commercial contracting models/risk profiles and project scopes/phases (FEL/EPC/EPCM)

Decision-Making and Problem Solving:

·    Make high-impact choices based considering the broader impact on the organization and its commitment to sustainability.

·    Assimilate information from multiple sources to derive answers and solve complex questions, demonstrating a commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions mitigating risk.

Organizational Leadership:

·    Provide organizational leadership with location/regional authority, emphasizing Worley's role as a prominent engineering partner in energy, chemicals, and resources.

·    Understanding of the importance of employee participation and the positive contribution of the Works Council to management decisions

·    Translate corporate goals into operational goals, overseeing integration across the organization in a manner consistent with Worley's promise to be the straight-talking partner for sustainable transformation.

·    Mentoring and development of senior and high potential team members across the region.

·     Cross-team collaboration - Actively engages/supports other regional projects in collaboration with regional management needs.

·     Manage and direct Operations Leadership team as Line Manager, and Support Functional Leadership Team, dotted line.

·     Network of high-level key client contacts and industry bodies and ability to enhance customer relationships.

Strategic Development and Commercial Acumen:

·      Demonstrate a strong understanding of broader systems, processes, and tools related to the field, emphasizing Worley's evolution and growth over the past 50 years.

·      Direct and guide the strategic development of new systems, processes, and tools, reflecting Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change.

·      Exhibit strong commercial acumen with experience in various commercial contracting models, risk profiles, and project scopes/phases, showcasing Worley's capability in driving innovation and sustainability across projects.

🔍 Requirements:

Key Skills  & Competencies

  • +20 years’ leadership of relevant experience with significant broad management experience or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Comfortable presenting at all levels within an organization from workforce on-site to group executive level, showcasing Worley's commitment to collaboration and inclusivity. This is a full bilingual role (English/Spanish). Portuguese as third language is a plus.

  • P&L ownership experience for a Country, BU or Portfolio, with a consistent experience working and thriving in matrix org structures.
  • A network of high-level key client contacts and credibility/ability to enhance customer relationships, underscoring Worley's position as a prominent partner in energy, chemicals, and resources. Mining Tier 1 experience is highly valuable as part of the owner´s team.
  • Motivational, collaborative, and visible presence in leadership style with good communication skills and the ability to develop a high-performance culture, embodying Worley's commitment to delivering sustainable change and mitigating risks effectively through positive decision-making.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to share information with employees in a clear, transparent and visionary manner which will enhance a safe working environment and bring enthusiasm and agility in the organization.
  • Approach challenges with high positive energy and drive continuous improvement to ensure high quality delivery from yourself and colleagues around you.
  • Good understanding of the Local Labor Law including Labor Relations either through experience or open to training and learning this key component. Unions Management is nice to have.
  • Experience of successfully engaging with client executives, senior management, and other key stakeholders. 
  • Essential experience in large projects or alliance program environments from engineering through to construction and commissioning.
