Senior Controls Engineer
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Senior relevant years of professional engineering/technologist experience (post-school) including but not limited to directly related Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) experience working on related industrial applications.
- Strong Experience with Industrial Control Systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and/or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), SCADA systems and Safety Instrumented System (SIS); and associated control system devices, computers, communications, networks, endpoint devices, and instrumentation.
- In-depth knowledge of industry advances in control system monitoring, testing and analysis of control equipment; and controls theory.
- Strong technical leadership skills and strong verbal/written communication skills.
- Experience and foundation with Ethernet network switches and serial digital communications, including third party communication protocols (Profibus/Profinet, Modbus, DNP, AB-PLC).
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments concurrently and manage deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully work both independently and in a team environment to identify errors, pinpoint root causes, and devise solutions with minimal oversight.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- Post-Secondary Education in a field related to Instrumentation & Control.
- Ideally over 15 years of direct Instrumentation & Control design and engineering experience.
- Experience with control loop tuning.
- Strong computer skills foundation as relates to operating systems, controls system software, servers, networks, and communications software.
- PEO registration or able to register with PEO.
- Functional Safety Certification.
