Qualification
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development Support
• Builds positive working relationships with external parties such as the customer, suppliers, and contractors.
• Involved in networking, negotiations, strategic alliancing, and cost savings efforts.
• Maintains pricing records reflecting the effort to complete discipline activities.
• Supports proposals by developing the project execution strategy, estimating and reviewing costs, writing proposal content, and presenting to customers.
• Team member for negotiation and selection of successful bidders. .
Business Operations
• Leads budgeting and manages project operations to the budget. Controls project staffing levels, organizational structure, and monitors project discipline structures.
• Oversees employee usage, and skill development.
• Ensures mentoring/training requirements are met.
• Manages the employee performance review process.
• Oversees coverage of activities when people leave the team.
• Ensures project work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
Project Execution & Deliverables
• Provides direction and management for every phase of a major program to ensure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.
• Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in-depth knowledge of customer objectives, contract terms, and corporate policies.
• Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned program, project, or subtask.
• Acts as the Company representative with the customer and selected suppliers during the program execution.
• Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the customer.
• Assists business development in understanding customer issues and business plans in order to market and secure new/additional work.
• Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the program and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
• Assigns responsibility to executing project plans for key subordinates and assesses how to utilize their qualifications and strengths.
• Provides input to performance reviews and development plans for subordinates.
• Promotes technical excellence as well as the improvement of the Quality Improvement Process.
• Mobilizes Company resources, through effective liaison with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
• Works with Engineering Manager/ individual lead discipline engineer to develop budgets, schedules and plans for the various elements of a project.
• Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
• Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.
• Works with Engineering Manager /individual lead discipline to devise and execute action plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
• Advises the customer and Company management of any such changes.
• Oversees establishment of Work Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan and other documents for hazardous waste work.
• May participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of customers.
