Responsibilities:
An experienced and highly skilled Principal Telecom Engineer to lead and oversee the telecom systems for our oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced Telecommunication systems and equipment in complex, large-scale projects.
Carry out Studies, development and detailed design engineering activities pertaining to Telecommunication systems and sub-system, including co-ordination with the various discipline groups in an engineering consultancy organization. The preferred areas of expertise within Telecommunication systems are: onshore Telecommunication networks (SDH/OTN/DWDM/Gigabit Ethernet etc).
Wireless digital communication systems (HF, VHF, UHF, Tetra and spread spectrum etc.), serial communication systems, CCTV systems, Information Systems and Telephone/Data Networks and structured cabling, PA/GA Systems, Access Control Systems.
This position requires deep technical knowledge, leadership ability, and the capacity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project delivery meets industry standards and specifications.
Major Accountability Of Position:
Develop discipline work plans. Overall supervision of Telecom engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project and development of project deliverables.
Provide technical expertise and support in the specification, design, and selection of Telecom systems.
Manage all aspects of Telecommunication engineering on assigned projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource planning and risk management.
Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework. Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration and timely completion of the project.
Oversee the preparation of design deliverables and ensure compliance with project requirements.
Effective interaction with client engineering team for approval of design deliverables.
Represent organizational competency and capabilities at various forums.
Liaise with Project Manager/Engineer to manage design change within project budget and schedule framework
Experienced in telecommunication systems such as FOC cable installation, SDH, Ethernet, CCTV, Access Control systems, PA/GA systems, TETRA Radio System, CCTV System, LAN/WAN System Information and telephone/data systems. Experienced in integrating all the above systems providing a complete Telecommunication package with the support of telecom system integrator.
Development of Telecom specifications, data sheets, Telecom design Basis, Telecom Coverage Study Reports, Block Diagrams for Telecom system, TETRA Radio System, Access Control System, PAGA, CCTV System, LAN/WAN System, Power Consumption & Heat Dissipation Calculation, Telecom Equipment list, Telecom Tie-In List, Telecom Cable Schedule, Layout drawing, Telecom MTO etc.
Experience in preparation of Modification Scope of Work for Existing Telecom system.
Participation in site survey and data collection for Telecom design.
Participation in various Workshops such as Design reviews, Risk review, Value engineering, constructability etc.
Good understanding of HSE requirements of both self and within the discipline team
Ensuring technical integrity of the Telecom deliverables for the project. In particular ensure compliance with the work scope and with applicable international standards
Work on proposals and prepare MH estimation.
Has experience to handle workshare with remote office.
Job Specific Knowledge:
Experience in execution of Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering for onshore & Offshore Oil and Gas projects.
Perform engineering design for Telecom System for Oil and Gas projects. Shall have experience of working in major ADNOC projects.
Preparation/review of all Telecom Engineering deliverables such as Telecom design Basis, specifications, data sheets, Telecom Coverage Study Reports, Block Diagrams for Telecom system, TETRA Radio System, Access Control System, PAGA, CCTV System, LAN/WAN System, Power Consumption & Heat Dissipation Calculation, Telecom Equipment list, Telecom Tie-In List, Telecom Cable Schedule, Layout drawing, Telecom MTO etc.
Providing input to IES & Control room layouts & Field layouts for onshore Oil & Gas projects
Guiding 3D modeler for 3D modelling activity.
Preparation of scope of work and Technical Bid Evaluation for selection of TSI (Telecom System Integrator).
Industry Specific Experience:
Good knowledge of ADNOC standards, SHELL DEPs, International standards such as ITU-T, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, IEC Standards.
- Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate Degree in Telecommunication Engineering. Chartered Engineer is preferred.
HSE Capability:
Good knowledge of Hazardous Area classification.
IT Skills:
Computer skills with MS office
People Skills:
- Good communication skill, Leadership skill and able to guide team working locally as well as for workshare with centre of excellence and integrated delivery, mentoring junior Engineers.
