Principal Telecom Engineer
• Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project
environment
• Specialized expertise of the regulations, codes and standards and a good understanding of onshore and offshore
engineering practices applicable to Instrumentation & Control design for oil and gas facilities.
• Strong technical background in Telecommunications Engineering (with knowledge of the other discipline).
• Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills in the Instrumentation & Control discipline, and able to
consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its clients.
• Specialized knowledge of International codes and standards on telecommunication field and statutory and regulatory
requirements.
• Specialized expertise in the various telecom network designs such as SDH, PDH, Wi-Fi, IP/Ethernet, FO backbone etc.
including various topology and protocols.
• Extensive knowledge in the design of systems such as trunked radio (TETRA), VSAT, SCADA, LAN/WAN, PA/GA, Radio
Communications, Access control, CCTV, Intruder detection / Security systems, Telephone / PABX systems etc. to suit
client requirements
• A thorough knowledge of codes, standards and practice applicable to the design and installation of instruments (e.g. TIA,
ITU, BICSI, API, ISA, ANSI, AGA, ISO and IEC codes etc.)
• Specialized expertise in:
o Interface requirements with various control systems
o Preparation of specifications of Structure cabling Systems, Field cabling requirements.
o Cyber security and office LAN network
o Preparation of Telecom system specifications and equipment datasheets
o Calculations such as FO link budget, Bandwidth requirement, Radio coverage, speaker coverage calculations
using standard software’s available in telecom industry
• Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering from an accredited university
• MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not
holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
