The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications and experience: 

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in science, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, environmental resource management or equivalent experience 

  • More than 15 years of experience in environmental assessment, leading and growing environmental assessment teams to secure and deliver quality services in line with our corporate strategy 

  • Experience in multi-jurisdictional regulatory frameworks with proven knowledge of the Government of Canada and provincial impact assessment and environmental acts and regulations   

  • Professional experience with capital projects in the low carbon energy, conventional energy, chemical and fuels, and resources sectors  

  • Strong interpersonal, management and leadership skills, willingness to work within a team and lead teams 

  • Supervisory, project management and client management experience an asset 

  • Self-starter, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks and to coordinate staff 

  • Knowledge of project development as it relates to an Engineering, Procurement and Construction company. 

  • Working knowledge of Indigenous cultural issues, communities and protocols is required, as is the ability to interpret related Federal and Provincial legislation 

  • Indigenous and stakeholder engagement experience in the context of National and Provincial environmental legislation is preferred.   

  • Previous experience in similar growth or transformational project settings, or business development role, desirable but not essential. 

  • Highly developed facilitation, presentation, and negotiation capabilities. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
