Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Principal Structural Designer. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Sudbury location.
Deliver structural design and drafting services that meet Worley, the client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. This position is based in Sudbury office and potentially workshare with other offices.
Responsibilities:
· Working on a variety of Mining and Metals projects, to deliver design drawings and final construction/detail drawings, for engineering projects.
· Ensuring drawing packages are delivered within the project time schedule.
· Participate in design review sessions.
· Coordinating work with other related discipline engineers and designers
· Experience of project E3D setup, coordinating with engineering data management group
· Ensure compliance with QA/safety/environment goals.
· Promote productivity enhancing initiatives to positively influence the project execution and/or design;
· Prepare 2D drawings (cut from 3D model or draft) including general arrangement, plans sections and details
· Prepare structural Material Take-offs.
· Prepare as-built drawings.
· Review shop drawings
· Site travel as required by project,
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
· Senior level experience working on mining/industrial projects., modelling steel and concrete structures;
· Proficiency with Aveva E3D or PDMS , 3D modelling experience an absolute must.;
· Knowledge of other 3D softwares will be an asset
· Strong communication skills;
· To work without direct supervision and to be able to provide advice and direction to other designers. Ability to train & mentor junior designers, drafters as required.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required: Technical Diploma in Civil/Structural
