Worley is currently seeking a Principal Safety Engineer, with specialization related to loss prevention/ Fire protection to work on a medium to large size projects for various of our customers. Job requires to provide technical advice, manage the Fire Protection activities and deliverables on a project, lead a small team of Fire protection engineers and able to produce Fire Protection documents for the Authorities.

Main Responsibilities (List of responsibilities)

Safety Engineers are responsible for: Safety Engineer Management/ Regulatory Compliance/ Technical Safety/ Environmental Engineering/ Loss Prevention/ Human Factor Engineering/ Sustainability

· Leadership skills in Safety Engineering with ability to handle complex multi-office projects.

· Carrying the responsibility for the project success and providing strong direction for the team.

· Plans and manages the work, managing the financial aspects of the discipline, including the man-hour estimates and margin goals. Ensures effective management of change.

· Understanding of project business case and reflect this in the work environment such as productivity, schedule, workhour control, innovation etc.

· Be involved in development and implementation of activities such as the latest technology and methods to improve efficiency, accuracy and productivity for the department.

· Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects and demonstrating this by example.

· Can work as an efficient team with project management and other disciplines, both within Worley and that of the client.

· Excellent communication and co-ordination skills (both verbal and written).

For the role Pr. Safety Engineer (Fire protection) Significant technical experience and skills in the following areas:

• Fire Protection Philosophy

• Active Fire Protection

o Fire water demand calculation, Hydraulic calculations, FW layout, FW UFD &P&ID’s, Heat radiation contours, monitoring covering, requisitions, etc.

• Passive Fire Protection

o Specifications, layouts

• Fire and Gas Detection

o Philosophy, Specifications, requisitions, layouts

Preferred Experience (software, language, specific knowledge, or expertise)

· Able to check the deliverables produced by the team.

· Demonstrate a pro-active and pragmatic mentality.

· Experience in work cooperation with remote offices (work sharing concept).

· Real team player (within SE team and cooperation with other departments).

· Takes ownership of the scope, budget and schedule.

· Candidate can work independently and reports to project engineer/manager or overall Lead Engineer.

· Pipenet / KY Pipe

· In the possession of driver’s license

Non-negotiables 

· Education: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Engineering.

· Experience in the areas of Safety engineering with specialist in Fire Protection for 12+ years, of which minimum of 7 years of lead engineer experience.

· Experience in development of Fire Protection scope in Concept, FEED and Detailed Design project phases.

· Experience with producing Dutch Fire Protection Documents for the Dutch Authorities. Dutch language required
