Principal Mechanical Designer, Mining, Minerals & Metals
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Substantial relevant engineering and design experience with a minimum of typically 15 years’ experience in the design and plant layout of mineral processing, materials handling facilities or hydrometallurgical ore processing facilities, preferably in gold, lithium, base metals such as copper, nickel, etc. and iron ore processing. This could include time in an engineering organization or in an operations environment.
- Experience in the design and layout of mineral processing plants from run of mine ore receipt to final product storage and handling.
- Understanding and knowledge in typical MMM process areas such as Crushing/Screening, Product Storage and Stockpiling, Material Handling, Mineral Processing.
- Experienced in 3D modeling.
- Proficient in AVEVA E3D and extracting drawings from the 3D model.
- Proficient in other 3D CAD software from Bentley or Autodesk such as MicroStation, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and laser scanning software is a plus.
- Excellent knowledge and efficient use of 2D AutoCAD is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use MS Office software is essential.
- Able to plan and prioritize own work to ensure that functional project requirements on scope, time and cost are met.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative environment and good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Must have a proven safety record and be able to demonstrate an excellent safety-oriented mindset with understanding of the mechanisms and related engineering legislation to ensure safe, maintainable and operable designs.
- Must have valid driving license.

Required:
- A degree in mechanical or mineral engineering is an asset.
For candidates based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range on this role is: $103,250 to $155,014 CAD per year
