Portfolio Delivery Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation / advisory service to the portfolio director reviewing the approved demand to make recommendations, where necessary to the delivery schedule of planned and in-flight projects providing continued strategic alignment
• Identify, document, and manage dependencies between projects and programs internally in the portfolio and within the wider PMO, advising the EPMO delivery Senior Director to resolve risks and/or issues related to such dependencies
• Review (at a minimum, bi-weekly) associated portfolio performance dashboards and make recommendations on actions, where required
• Provide continual assurance regarding the management of portfolios and to make recommendations for actions required to address poorly performing programs/projects
• Provide regular updates on the risk and issue status of the portfolio to the portfolio director and to support PM’s on appropriate actions
• Provide an escalation path for both the Portfolio director and program/project managers
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure understanding of relevant project /program deliverables and ensure governance is maintained as per the PMO guidelines.
• Facilitate Steering committee meetings in the absence of PM representation
• Lead post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and apply them to future projects
• Contribute to resource management/allocation and capacity planning to optimise the utilization of resources across the portfolio and the PMO
• Report resource shortfalls or conflicts
• Ensure project budgets, schedules, and quality standards are met while delivering the desired business outcomes
• Managing capability development and implementing the recruitment strategy in line with the PMO Strategy.
• Undertaking professional development reviews and Gap Analysis to develop and position the technical capability for future work streams.
• Technical governance of projects within your capability portfolio.
• Maintaining technical oversight of projects being undertaken
• Supporting the PMs with project Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People and Risk reviews to ensure Project KPIs are achieved.
