Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Operation Readiness Engineer (Maintenance Specialist) to support the Operational Readiness (OR) process, maintenance strategies, and engineering design for projects in the pelletizing process. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, technical standards, and industry best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Main Responsibilities:
• Prepare process documentation for Operational Readiness (OR) in accordance with PGS-006267.
• Identify and raise issues related to safety, near misses (N3), unsafe conditions, and process safety during execution and commissioning phases.
• Demonstrate technical expertise during discussions with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
• Support planning and execution of new maintenance strategy plans as per Vale’s standards, PNRs, and VPS requirements.
• Assist in defining and implementing the hibernation process for existing assets at VOPC.
• Validate layouts and general arrangements developed by the engineering team.
• Analyze and validate technical specifications, technical requisitions, and data sheets as per OR guidance, PNRs, and Vale standards.
• Support Reliability Studies and the implementation of required actions based on the analysis.
• Assist in evaluating and implementing new inspection routines in the system and update cases required due to project implementation.
• Support the definition of spare parts strategy, ensuring cost optimization, specification similarity, and plant reliability.
• Assist in defining and updating maintenance procedures.
• Support all phases of project execution following Vale Oman Guidelines.
• Ensure that all modifications to equipment and systems meet design and implementation compliance requirements.
• Assist in the design and specification of new equipment, modifications, and projects, ensuring the adoption of best industry practices.
• Participate in HAZOPs, HIRA, and engineering assessments.
• Utilize SAP for maintenance and inspection models.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Pelletizing Process, project development, and engineering design.
• Strong understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability studies, and inspection planning.
• Proficiency in SAP for maintenance and inspection models.
• Knowledge of Vale’s standards, PNRs, VPS requirements, and safety regulations.
• Experience working with OEMs, engineering teams, and project implementation processes.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
