Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer Level II. Our team includes world-class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Mississauga, Ontario.
To support the Mechanical Engineering team with design and engineering work within the Chemical and Fuel (C&F) sector. The candidate will report to the Department Manager - Mechanical Engineering – Canada East and work at the client site in Mississauga under the supervision of Worley’s Project Manager, and will liaise daily with the rest of the project team and the client.
Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems and who show effective teamwork and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role. This position is a fully on-site role, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Prepare technical documents such as specifications, data sheets, sketches, and drawings, etc.
- Provide technical procurement support, including performing technical bid evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment and vendor documents review.
- Apply the requirements of Codes and Standards such as ASME Codes, NBCC, CSA, and API Standards.
- Conduct field walkdowns in operating plants and construction sites in regard to the project tasks.
- Perform design calculations where required.
- Prepare Construction Work Packages.
- Attend inspection activities as required.
- Assist in the preparation of the project scope of work, planning, schedule, budget control, etc.
- Identify and report changes to study/project scope.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.

Technical and Industry Experience:

- Intermediate level experience in working with chemical and hydrocarbon-related mechanical equipment.
- Experience with mechanical engineering Codes and Standards such as ASME Codes, NBCC, CSA, and API Standards.
- Experience with API 650 Atmospheric Storage Tanks is an advantage.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working with other disciplines, understanding engineering sequences, workflows, and collaborating with the customer on design reviews.
- Experience working at construction sites and operating plants is an advantage.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering as a minimum with relevant refinery experience.
- Registration with PEO as a Professional Engineer.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Candidate must be present on the client site in Mississauga, 5 days a week.
