Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Material Management:

  • Maintain detailed inventory of E&I materials, including cables, panels, field instruments, lighting, junction boxes, fittings, conduit, and control systems.

  • Monitor deliveries and coordinate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability aligns with project milestones.

  • Identify shortages, overages, damage, or non-conformance of received materials and initiate corrective actions.

 

2. Receiving & Inspection:

  • Support the receiving process of E&I materials, including verification against purchase orders, preparation of receiving reports (MRRs), and documentation of inspections.

  • Coordinate with QA/QC for technical verification of critical E&I materials.

 

3. Preservation & Storage:

  • Ensure correct storage, segregation, and preservation of E&I materials according to manufacturer specifications and project procedures.

  • Conduct periodic inspections of stored items to check for corrosion, degradation, or expired preservation periods.

 

4. Issuance & Coordination:

  • Control the issuance of E&I materials to field teams based on the requirements.

  • Ensure materials are issued in correct quantities and within required timelines to avoid construction delays.

 

5. Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date material logs, stock records, and traceability documentation.

  • Prepare daily/weekly material status reports, including material availability, consumption, and forecast requirements.

  • Support material reconciliation and handover documentation at project completion.

 

6. Interface & Support:

  • Collaborate with engineering, construction, warehouse, QA/QC, and procurement departments to ensure alignment on material handling procedures.

  • Participate in construction and materials coordination meetings to report on E&I material status and constraints.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education:
    Relevant educational qualification.

     

     

  • Experience:

    • Relevant experience in material control for electrical and instrumentation disciplines in industrial construction projects (preferably in phosphate, mining, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors).

    • Strong knowledge of E&I materials, codes, and installation practices.
