Purpose:
The candidate will have come from a strong technical network engineering background with years of experience and have moved into or be ready to move into a supervisory position in Network Operations. The Network Operations Manager will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the current network infrastructure in the Americas region covering Alaska, Canada, USA and South America. There are approximately 80 sites across the region of varying sizes and complexities. You will be managing a team of 5 network engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong and detailed technical experience in Networks, specifically with experience of Cisco, Meraki and Palo Alto vendor equipment.
- Ability to lead from the front in owning complex technical network problems and be a 4th level mentor and focal point for your team.
- Experience of cloud networks and cloud connectivity, Megaport, Equinix ExR, Azure, AWS, Oracle etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. You will provide troubleshooting and configuration support using your strong technical skills in IP networking.
- Strong documentation skills, ensuring network diagrams and documentation are kept accurate and up to date. Good experience using MS Visio is a must.
- Manage network related projects, office moves, equipment refreshes, migrations, changes etc. ensuring standards are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure the network equipment is kept up to date with refreshes and maintenance to standard where necessary.
- Good working knowledge of Service Now will be an advantage.
- Reviewing and keeping on top of the Network Operations ticket queue will be a key part of the role ensuring faults are responded to and resolved quickly and efficiently for the user community.
- Working on Incident / Change / Problem tickets and to be part of all Major IT Incidents.
- Experience with managing 3rd party service providers, telcos and working with outsource partners across the globe on performance, problem diagnosis and resolution is a key part of the role.
- Experience with terraform scripting would be a strong advantage.
- Experience and use of Network automation tools would be an advantage.
- Experience of Aruba ClearPass/802.1x will be a key advantage.
- You should have detailed and extensive Cisco switch configuration knowledge and detailed knowledge of corporate LAN configuration.
- Knowledge and experience of Data Centre environments.
- Knowledge or Solarwinds network monitoring tools is a key advantage.
- Knowledge of IP address management tools
- Candidate should have routing protocol knowledge. BGP/OSPF/EIGRP/Static routes
- Candidate should have Palo Alto Firewall and Panorama knowledge.
- Candidate should have Meraki Wireless technology skills and a detailed knowledge of configuring, managing and troubleshooting corporate WiFi networks.
- Candidate should have strong network troubleshooting skills.

- CCNP/CCIE certified or equivalent experience required.
