KEY Accountabilities Of Position:

  1. Running and managing litigation, disputes, court / compulsory processes, negotiations and settlements to minimise external spend and limit Worley’s risk / exposure
  2. Drafting and negotiating joint venture/teaming arrangements/alliances and corporate structures to minimise external spend and facilitate Worley’s ability to gain work
  3. Drafting and negotiating Confidentiality Undertakings and Parent Company and Bank Guarantees to minimise external spend and protect Worley’s interests / risk minimisation
  4. Project contracts drafting and negotiation, and related matters, to minimise external spend and facilitate Worley’s ability to gain work
  5. Advising on a broad range of legal and commercial issues to minimise external spend and protect Worley’s interests / risk minimisation
  6. Policy advising/drafting (standards, processes); Insurance reporting to minimise external spend and protect Worley’s interests / risk minimisation
  7. Drafting and reviewing precedent agreements
  8. Involved in Corporate legal functions – internal systems/processes workshops, procurement arrangements, leasing as well as ad hoc involvement with some HR and employment issuesData Protection and HSE issues

Experience:

·       Qualified legal practitioner in South Africa with broad exposure to corporate and commercial matters. Experience in the same or similar industry is preferred.

·       Minimum 3 and maximum of 5 years’ post article experience, could be a combination of private practice and in-house corporate law experience, which must include commercial and contract law as well as experience or an understanding in FIDIC, NEC and other bespoke  construction/engineering based contracts.

 

Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

·       LLB Degree. Admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
