Worley Canada Construction is seeking a Lead Material Handler to work with our project team on a site in Northern Alberta.
Work Conditions:
- This role is based at site near (insert Location).
- Camp near site and Flights from Calgary or Edmonton provided (Fly-in, Fly-out).
- (insert shift) shift rotation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Work will be primarily conducted outside in varying weather conditions (rain/cold weather gear is not provided).
- Must be able to lift 44lbs, stand/work/upright/kneel for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities:
- Physical receiving of materials
- Inspect incoming material for shortages and damage
- Complete Load Assessment forms
- Material sourcing and creating material pick sheets for material requested by construction team
- Report to site personnel estimated time of material arrivals and co-ordination of offloading and placement including direction to proper lay down / jack and roll zone
- Coordinate material movement across the work site as required by site management personnel
- Working with Truckers to ensure Gates passes are completed
- Escorting trucks in a safe manner to the Laydown Areas
- Spotting Load removal from trucks
- Inspection of Loads prior to entering gate
- Organization of Materials in Laydown and storage facilities
- Identifying OSD’s and Completing required documentation
- Issue OS&D reports and resolve as required
- Drive into town to pick up items, as required.
NOTE: This role requires physical work outside in various weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a construction material receiving role.
- Must have experience with packing lists and associated receiving activities
- Possess a valid class 5 drivers license, CSTS2020 Fundamentals ticket/WHMIS 2015
- Formal Material management training would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a construction environment in the domestic oil and gas industry is preferred.
- Rigging experience would be considered an asset.
