What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Extensive engineering experience in electrical engineering
  • Leadership role supporting medium to large projects
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation would be an asset.
  • Previous site experience will be an asset.
  • Experience in HV Substation and knowledge of Utility Standards will an asset
  • Familiar with digital tools, digitization and data acquisition experience are an asset
  • Strong knowledge on the development of the following deliverables.
    • HV, MV and LV systems
    • Protection & Control
    • HV knowledge an asset/preferable
    • Single line diagrams, schematics, interconnection and wiring diagram
    • Layouts – lighting and grounding, cable routing design
    • Substation and MCC design
    • Area classification per code requirements
    • Electrical calculations
    • Power System Studies
    • HVAC, Ventilation, and Fire Alarm/control system Experience
  • Revamp and grassroots project experience
  • Preparation of Specifications and Contract Documentation.
  • Prepare electrical design and calculations in accordance with the relevant Canadian Codes / Standards and client preferences.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations, and practices.
  • Working knowledge of Power System software e.g., ETAP will be an asset
  • Team player, with excellent organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Design software.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • French speaking would be an asset.
  • French speaking engineers that have or are eligible for a license with Ordre des Ingenieurs du Quebec would be an asset.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • University graduate in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.

Preferred:

  • Significant experience in Electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (Ontario) designation.
