Intermediate Wildlife Biologist
The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications and experience:
· Bachelors or Master’s degree in ecology, biology, environmental resource management, or equivalent degree program, or an environmental technology/technical diploma, or equivalent diploma program;
· An active membership with professional organization or ability to obtain membership (e.g., ASPB, CAB, ASET);
· Approximately 4-6 years of demonstratable experience working in wildlife biology, ecology, or related field;
· Experience in wildlife identification and ability to carry out fieldwork in remote and rugged locations, in various environmental conditions;
· Demonstrated understanding of provincial and federal wildlife guidelines, directives, and Acts
· Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills;
· Experience in industries such as pipelines, upstream/downstream oil and gas facilities, mining, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects would be an asset;
· Strong interpersonal skills;
· Strong technical writing skills;
· Self-starter and flexible team player;
· Reliable and motivated;
· Ability to work within a team environment;
· Excellent computer skills; and
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
